What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here with a couple of the most usual A/C problems in Calgary.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioner running but there isn’t cool air coming out, you might need to have your refrigerant levels evaluated. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air coming out of your air conditioning system is actually cool. Call Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning and we’ll come out and review your refrigerant levels and look into why your air conditioner is not giving off cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

The reason your condenser fan may not be rotating could be that it just burned out and you require a replacement. Humidity can cause more condensation so a second problem to watch for is that the water is not draining properly or that the drain is restricted. If you can verify these issues, you may be able to find the issue; if not, give Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning a call and we can find out what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and go over your options to get your system up and running again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering your thermostat. It seems simple but sometimes we overlook the obvious. If that doesn’t get your air conditioner cooling, check the air filter. If the air filter is dirty, it could cause huge cooling problems. Another issue that could cause your lack of cooling is that your HVAC system is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a typical issue when homes are constructed. Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning will come out and do an analysis to determine if the size of your equipment is causing your problems.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your AC is short cycling, or turning on or off continuously, it could mean one of several things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and requires cleaning. Once the system is cleaned and all blockages removed, you may be good to go. Note that humidity also plays a part so if your home cools to the correct temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to heat up quickly, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because the system is having to work harder to keep your home cool.

No matter your problem, whatever air conditioning trouble you run into, Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is here for you 24 hours a day so we can get your home comfortable quickly.
