We are getting through the last few weeks of winter but we still have to have our furnaces, especially during frigid nights. Nothing is worse than going to bed at night just to realize your furnace won’t kick on. If this happens to you, here are some things you can check yourself before your call Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning.
Check Air Filters
You should replace standard air filters each month. If you do not, they can end up clogged, blocking air flow and causing your furnace to malfunction.
Check Your Thermostat
Start by turning the thermostat up a few degrees to get the furnace to turn on. If the actual room temperature is higher than the thermostat, the heating system won’t turn on. Also, make sure the system switch is on “heat” or “auto.”
Check the Power
It may seem ridiculous, but make sure the power switch next to the heating system is “On.” Even gas heating systems use electricity so make sure the breaker has not tripped and that the power switch wasn’t accidently switched to the “Off” position.
If you review all these things and your furnace will still not turn on, give Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning a call at 403-279-5760 and we’ll come out and get you heating again as soon as possible.
