Here’s What to Do When Your Furnace Won’t Ignite
We are getting through the last few weeks of winter but we still have to have our furnaces, especially during cool nights. There’s not a lot that is worse than turning in at night just to realize your furnace won’t turn on. If this happens to you, here are a few things you can check yourself prior to calling Service Experts Heating, Air Conditioning & Plumbing.
Check Air Filters
You should change standard air filters every 30 days. If you fail to do so, they can become clogged, restricting air flow and resulting in your furnace malfunctioning.
Check Your Thermostat
Start by turning the thermostat up a few degrees to get the furnace to turn on. If the current room temperature is higher than the thermostat, the furnace won’t kick on. Also, confirm the system switch is on “heat” or “auto.”
Check the Power
It may seem obvious, but confirm the power switch next to the heating system is “On.” Even gas heating equipment uses electricity so confirm the breaker has not tripped and that the power switch was not accidently switched to the “Off” position.
If you review all these things and your furnace will still not start up, give Service Experts Heating, Air Conditioning & Plumbing a call at 866-397-3787 and we’ll come out and get you taken care of as soon as possible.
